MEET STEPH

Stephanie
---
Saltwater and Silver is a one-woman show run by the one and only, Stephanie- but everyone calls her Steph.
---
Steph's passion for creating started at a VERY young age. She vividly remembers creating Cheerio art for a class project with her mother around age 5 and being enamored with how well her mom drew a tree and a red bird. She attributes this to the spark that lit the blaze. Stephanie began creating with anything she could. Her grandmother taught her to crochet at young age, she learned to sew and adorned all types of sweaters with her, then blossoming, not-all-that-great, artwork; but she couldn't get enough!
---
In high school Stephanie found metalsmithing. Starting out with cold-connections and working her way to soldering, she knew she was hooked. After winning a 3D competition for her jewelry, she was awarded a portfolio scholarship to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Ironically, after a few jewelry classes she switched her major to Photography and graduated with her BFA in Photo. Never letting go of her passion to create, Stephanie opened a screen printing business in Savannah, moved it to Colorado, and opened an Etsy shop.
Eventually returning back to Florida, she found herself creating jewelry once again. She started with shark's teeth earrings from her collection found on her local beaches and has since grown into what is now Saltwater and Silver.
---
Taking the plunge into her own bench setup was one she thought would only ever be a dream, but due to what she calls "The Great Pause of 2020" Stephanie thought it was the PERFECT time to dive in- she did, and she never looked back.
Steph considers herself in the realm of forever-learning, because in her mind there shouldn't ever be an "end-point". She is committed to constantly expanding and deepening her craft.
---
Stephanie LOVES turquoise, opalized wood, chrysoprase, and any other stone that reminds her of the oceans she calls home. She works shark's teeth into as many designs as possible and digs a statement piece of any kind. She prefers time spent at the beach, loves her hair covered in saltwater, and gets upset if there isn't any sand in her car. She says that creating with silver and gemstones is beyond what she ever thought it could be and is so grateful for each moment spent doing so.

"I am is so honored that you're here. I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that I get to create such special pieces that people love as much as I do. Your support and interest mean more to me than I could ever say- in a million years- I could never put words to how full of gratitude I am. Thank you, thank you, thank you."
